The Death of Stalin could’ve been a lot better. It is a strange form of parody or dark comedy. Honestly, I don’t know if it could be saved with a bit better historicism. It did have me laughing at a few points. Some of the license taken is necessary, but there are some dangerous misconceptions and falsehoods this movie proliferates. They needed to take greater care with such a touchy subject.

It stars Steve Buscemi, Simon Russell Beale, Paddy Considine, Rupert Friend, Jason Isaacs, Michael Palin, Andrea Riseborough and Jeffrey Tambor.
